As we wanted to do as many things on the "Maryland Bucket list" as possible, the plan had been to stop in Baltimore for crabs on the way back, but having just forced ourselves to have a 3pm lunch, that wasn't particularly appealing at the moment. I guess the moral of the story is that Ruth and Chik's pies can really fill you up! We made a quick stop in the park by the Gaithersburg Arts Barn, and finished our Maryland ...

    ... layover in Washington DC before heading to Addis, Ababa Ethiopia and then boarded my plane, which was pretty uneventful other than a lady on my plane scolding me about her valuables in her carry on luggage in the overhead compartment. Fingers crossed that this travel blog app will work on the wifi in Ethiopia! They are about to close the doors now, see you in 3 weeks ...

    ... repaired, cleaned and treated with a water-repellent spray - it now looks as good as new. We also enjoyed the company of friends, Rita Luther and Andy Engel and his wife Pam. Thank you, Pam, for the gift of apple bread, it was delicious!
