It was extremely relaxing to be on the water, in the sun, surrounded by the sounds of nature. We saw all sorts of different birds, but heard even more than we saw. After enough time chilling on the lake, we were fully refreshed and ready to stop sunburning. We pulled our kayaks out and headed ovedr to the ...

Before heading to New York, we had a 10 hour stopover in Seattle, where we got to see our awesome friends Tara and Dave and have delicious apple, cinnamon pancakes for breakfast. For no US visit would be complete without breakfast cooked by Dave. We then toured around with the lovely Tara (where we saw the gum wall –see photo) before she dropped us back at the airport for our flight to New York. From here, we decided to get one of the museums done for the afternoon, even if it was mainly to get out of the heat. We got the metro to the Air and Space Museum and after passing through airport style security again, we were in the nice cool air-conditioned building. Ahhhh.

... and Eshaan for walking along on both days without too much complaints; we must have walked about 12-14 miles between the two days around the National Mall.

Excellent visit to DC and thanks to our friends Biju & Ruby for hosting us. We were even able to celebrate graduation for both their kids from HS to college and to middle to HS!
