The Menin Gate - is a memorial to all British and commonwealth soldiers (except New Zealand and Newfoundland) that have no known grave - over 55,000!!! The ceremony has taken place every evening at 8pm since 1927 - except during German occupation during WWII. ... to the camp ground, which was only 1km out of town. After dinner we headed back into town on the bikes and watched the Last Post at the Menin Gate. No pics as we couldn't see a bloody thing! It is very moving though, so many names, so many lives, and those are just the ones they didn't find! We then had a couple of beers before heading home, albeit a little more wobbly then when we rode in!

... Everyone we met wa amazing and friendly and we soon found ourselves traveling in a group of about 6, having arrived and left on the same days. What a fantastic little town! Wish we could've spent a week! Had mostly rainy weather, but we were able to brave the pouring rain and chilly wind in favour of new churches to discover and new chocolate flavours to try.
