We took the train to Rennes, the current capital of Brittany. It was a bit of a train ride getting there and as we approached the terminus we were a little bit disappointed with what we saw - modern buildings and high rises. Oh well we will just have to make the most of it.

Our instructions are that we can check into our home for the week, Fleur de Lys, in Dinan Port, after 4pm. We have a drive through the centre of the old town of Dinan which is huge, ancient, and busy, so on the outskirts we stop at the Intermarche (supermarket) for basic supplies and then just head down the hill to the port on the River Rance. ... mainly going up the Villaine but some going along the Canal de Nante a Brest though a great canal you cant actually get to Brest as someone built a barrage, though I think they are trying to rectify the problem, but these things take time.
I am going to try to download some pictures so hold fire and lets see how it goes.
