We were pretty pleased to be leaving Provincetown for a bigger city with hopefully some life. On the way down the coast we passed some mental halloween displays outside houses and took a detour to the Cape Cod crisp factory! Loads of free samples so I was happy. ... through the gate more than once he would not graduate and if a girl did it she would not get married. Obviously these were really old (and sexist) superstitions but I wonder how many people avoid that gate anyways. We spent the evening in a McDonalds using their wifi and managed to only get a coffee. ... by Quakers and Baptists and has a very New England feel to it. Most of the houses are wooden framed clapperboard and shingle houses although there are some spectacular mansions along the cliffs bordering Easton Bay which came into view as we walked the impressive coastal path. Rhode Island's only covered road bridge was our next stop. These unique structures, which often appear in movies, were primarily built to weather proof the bridges!



The historic crossing's tolls sign raised a smile as we realised that road tolls are not new, they just have far more sophisticated collection methods!
