... cigarette very quickly.

Oops.

That stuff is strong and it blew my head off. Not wanting to alarm Rene who had warned me not to go too hard (he doesn't touch the stuff himself) I suggested we step back outside and go for a walk. Suffice it to say the train ride home was interesting.

I completely muzzered the train from Noordwijk to Bremen and ended up making up my own itinerary up as I went. I had a ticket on my phone that ...

... the village because it's harvest and wine making season. Know a few folks back home that would love a day in this region - it is simply stunning. Lunch was at "Le Deck" in Chexbres, a modern bar and restaurant at the top of the hill overlooking the vineyards and across the lake to France. When we arrived back at Barbara's and Claude's place, Emily was cooking a lamb roast. Perfect end to the day with some wine and ...

My cousin Julie Anne has lived in Leysin for 10 years working as a mountain guide and outdoor education tutor. I think the last time we saw each other was about thirty years ago at university in Dunedin so it will be interesting to see if we recognise each other. I call to organise where we are going to meet and she informs us that it is snowing up at Leysin and fairly misty so it wont be ...

Goodbye Leysin!

A travel blog entry by apincumbe on Aug 15, 2009

... One of the staff members, Wendy had just found out that her dad unexpectedly died. He was apparently in very good health, 55 years old. That was really sad to hear.
After dinner, I did some more work, then went on a walk with Cecilia. We walked to Eagle's Nest, chatted and I found a 10franc bill on the trail, so it was a pretty good walk!
Then I got ready to go out. Everyone was going over to Esplanade to the top floor balcony for a bbq. I had a bottle of wine ...
