... hours we had a baguette, then walked 1hr down the mountain back to camp. In the afternoon we went to Chamonix and booked a guided tour for some hiking and mixed climbing up at Aiguille du Midi tomorrow morning. So excited!! My cousin Julie Anne has lived in Leysin for 10 years working as a mountain guide and outdoor education tutor. I think the last time we saw each other was about thirty years ago at university in Dunedin so it will be interesting to see if we recognise each other. ... One of the staff members, Wendy had just found out that her dad unexpectedly died. He was apparently in very good health, 55 years old. That was really sad to hear.
After dinner, I did some more work, then went on a walk with Cecilia. We walked to Eagle's Nest, chatted and I found a 10franc bill on the trail, so it was a pretty good walk!
Then I got ready to go out. Everyone was going over to Esplanade to the top floor balcony for a bbq. I had a bottle of wine ...
