It's morning, no story yet but having lunch with my daughter Sonya at La Gloria, no , that's not heaven, nor is it that sleepy little town down in South Texas by the border. It's a Mexican food restaurant at the old Pearl Brewery grounds. Is it any good or just ok, tell ya later,at least my thoughts. Oh, in San Antonio,Texas ( home of the Alamo. Got to La Gloria a bit early and sat in the shade by the SA river taking in the place. Parking was a bit tight but it's Friday ...

... nice, although an awful lot of restaurants, which also all seemed to be serving the biggest portions! We had a nice walk round, before heading back to camp. This morning we are heading to look round the Alamo, before heading to Austin. ... guisada! Sorry Pig Stand, but we have moved up in the breakfast dive world! Then to Central Market to get picnic provisions - a Cuban sandwich, fruit, chocolate, and wine. We drove to the Mission San Jose and parked the truck (free! but we did make a donation). Got on the bikes and then to the Mission Trail we went.

BTW the Mission Bike Trail is wonderful! It runs through the heart of San Antonio, then south through 4 ...

... so there we were off again- following the 'carrot'...90 minutes later, having convinced the salesperson, we already had the perfect arrangements with our Homeexchangers, we were sent on our way , and off like 2 school kids with our goodies. A ride to the tower top,750 feet above the city; 360 degrees revolving restaurant, a fine dining lunch and wine overlooking the mesmerizing view of the city below.

... and they have great discounts and you get an extra 10% off with their international discount card so I always find good bargains there.

I then went to Chillis for lunch and had grilled chicken fajitas which were so nice! It was nice to have a meal that didn’t consist of fries or a hamburger too for a change unlike in January.
