    ... our walking tour and stopped into a local brewery called Gruut. We samples some beers there and right then I knew we had come to the right place for beer.     Our initial impression of Ghent (en route to our hotel from the station) was disappointing but, once we got to the historic centre, we changed our minds. It's much larger than Bruges and so its outskirts are more modern and ordinary.

    ... boring. The Carmelite Friary (Caermersklooster) was hosting the exhibition The Ghent Altarpiece Revealed. I wandered in here shortly after seeing the original Adoration of the Mystic Lamb so I found this quite interesting.
