The sun was out for much of our drive, got a bit cloudy right before Cashel, but just enough to add some character to the sky. When we got back to the bottom, we walked around the shores of Upper Lake to take in the scenery, and then made our own way along some of the trails to see Reefert Church, an 11th century church and the burial place of the local chieftain's clan, the O'Tooles. We climbed up to St. Kevin's Cell, the foundations of a hut where St. Kevin lived in seclusion overlooking the Upper Lake.
