      ... their soldiers. They also took his animals and food from the plantations so he was now basically broke. He got stressed out and ended up with pneumonia and died at 45. So his wife was left to raise their 8 children by herself so she moved into the basement and boarded up the 4 floors of rooms above them. She lived till she was in her 70's and her children all grew up and moved on. It sat with nothing else done to it till 1970.

      If I can say anything about my year living in and around Texas, I would say that it was full of culture. I say this while sitting next to a lake in the woods of Mississippi. A day after seeing a tiger in a Louisiana truck stop, and after being asked today at the Wal-Mart whether we carry protection while we camp.       After another delicious breakfast we checked out of Linden, and headed into Natchez. The owner of Frogmore had given us the name of a lady at the Historic Natchez Foundation who she thought would be helpful with information on genealogy. She was busy that morning, but we got an appointment to see her in the afternoon.

      We woke to coffee on the first floor gallery, then breakfast in the formal dining room. We enjoyed talking with the other guests and seeing where they were from and what things they had enjoyed in Natchez. Breakfast was followed by a tour of Linden, which is a beautiful home.
