          Goodbye noisy polluted amazing New York, here I am, in a lovely town not far from Hudson where my Amtrak train arrived. My friend Phil came to pick me up, I will stay 4 nights with him and his family.

          So nice a place to live. lots of land, to Belgian standards, the house surrounded by lawns, a little pond in the corner, trees and a little wood and even a little brook!

          The house is beautiful, and a sign indicates the given name: "Linker Oever", ...

          ... of green trees. But boy is it all coming at once! We did not have time to seal the mast collar, barely time to get the dodger and bimini back up, and did not have time to plug in until it let up a bit a few hours later.           ... back to beautiful river views. Our anchorage at Houghtaling Island was very pretty and we felt like we were in a jungle..... the birds were so loud and as the afternoon progressed the crickets took over. In the morning we were lucky to see a bald eagle right near our boat... after the fog lifted a little. We waited a little until it was clear before Marty pulled up the anchor.
