Hiking in the Hunt Wildlife Management Area
We learned a lot about Texas Wildlife Management Areas. Texas possesses 52 WMA, which are special state parks to research and preserve wildlife and their habitat. The WMAs are open to the public and hiking is permissable. It was an American Volkssport Association (AVA) sanctioned event. Over 100 hikers turned out for the one day event.

... these low –hanging power or phone lines all over the place. Is this suppose to be funny, like in a sitcom, and we laugh and laugh? I really wasn’t thinking in that direction by this time.
Back at the ranch…the electrical box was fine, we took a delightful long walk around the grounds and along the river, had a nice dinner, did the laundry together and started to laugh ...
Snow ... and 22 degrees
... just stopped. We didn't expect to see the most snow on our trip in Texas!
The temperatures then warmed up from that point forward, and reached a high of 22 degrees as we approached our stop for the night, Kerrville (about an hour outside of San Antonio). We saw lots of huge windmills along the way, and the terrain changed from barrain flat fields to hilly, thick trees and rock formations.
