I ended up buying some wool, a pack of knitting needles, a how to knit book and a friendship bracelet kit! I have so far knitted a phone case and just made a friendship bracelet. Nothing major, but I'm rather pleased. Hopefully this will be something I keep up and not just a phase.

... in the room, as was up early at about 7am for my bus, so I made as much noise as possible after all the racket the others made over the last few nights and also the way they took the fan in the room for themselves. Feck'em!! For to Rainbow Beach today. Staying at Dingo's hostel, decent place. Room was clean and had aircon thankfully, and was ensuite too. ... already there. Four lumberjacks left Sydney earlier in the year in search of cedar. They became lost during their return and eventually shipwrecked on an island in the mouth of Brisbane River. They had been living with the aborigines during the intervening 6 months. The city and river were named for New South Wales Governor Thomas Brisbane, who commissioned Oxley's survey.
