... day finished at 389/2.......apparently a bad day for the kiwis, or as the papers put it 'All Blancs'!
After the cricket we headed back into town but after drinking all day we had had enough beer and decided to head back to our site! We got some dinner on the way and made it back just in time to miss the huge thunder and lightening storm that started only moments after we got home and went on all ...

16 October, 2015 (Into the Mountains)

I was placed in Mammals with Yu on
Friday. We cleaned Daisy, the dingos and wombats speedily and

and can get to know her better. We had Steffie the ...

... my curiosity for the road ahead was so strong. I went past
the Powerhouse, a refurbished tram power station that is now a
restaurant, conference, and multi-arts centre. Watts, the riverside
restaurant, was bustling.

Curving along the rivers intense bends,
I biked through the edge of Teneriffe and Newstead. I started to be
rained upon pretty heavily at this point. Making sure my valuables
would be safe a little bit longer, I ...

Island Hopping

... to swim alongside some giant turtles, but scared them off by trying to stroke them before we could all get close. Treading water for a while was quite tiring (I’m probably just ridiculously unfit), so after our first snorkel I was having a go with a big, bright yellow inflatable noodle thing. I looked special, but it was so much easier – I just had to concentrate on looking down at the beautiful scenes below rather than making sure I wasn’t kicking off a piece ...
