Picked up our new hire car and off to our apartment.

We booked into Capitol apartments near South Bank, by Go Between bridge ( /) ours was lovely, ok views over the railway. far views much better, location perfect too.

Dinner in to enjoy the apartment.

... to hear anything at all. Either way, Australia lost 30 - 12. Oh dear.

It wouldn't be a proper introduction to Australia either if I hadn't seem some local wildlife. In fact I was even excited to see the iconic kangaroo and koala warning signs on the highway. I was more surprised moments later to see a kangaroo stood at the side of the road, car-spotting I presume.

As well as this insight into Australian wildlife I made my way to the Currumbin ...

... that lane closed so I had to cool my heels in line until I reached the officer who took my card, saw that I'd answered all the questions in the negative and waved me through the exit. Thank goodness for that because that meant that there was no chance that I'd end up with a starring role in "Border Patrol", one of Denise's favourite shows! (Not that I had any contraband anyway.) ... somewhere between a Lima, sloth and a wallaby ( they are quite small). I spent the rest of the afternoon chilling by the "beach" and writing postcards before looking around the market and having some dinner. I am used too seeing kareoke in a bar, with lots of drunk people getting up and singing to their hearts content. ... vaccine, polio vaccine, and your yearly flu shot. Also Malaria, also for travelling to Thailand Hepatitis A and typhoid shots are recommended. From my experience shots are important, Thailand is a very rough country and there is a few cases where people have gotten diseases.

My bags are packed and I am ready to go, I have looked into all the details making sure everything is going to go to plan. I leave for my flights very soon! I am very excited about this ...
