Ancient Rome and rain

One week off.. Italy anyone?
... we were told our train was cancelled and it was a bus which was leaving like RIGHT NOW so we ran in a random direction hoping it was the right one and jess found the bus and flagged it down before it left.. the doors were closed and it was ready to go.. very very dramatic people! If we missed it we would have missed our flight so THANK HEAVENS we made it.. we got our connecting train (the inspector told me i hadn't printed the right ticket but i just looked stupidly at him ...
When in Rome...
... probably would not have left alive. Anyway it was really cool to watch the reactions of 20 000 Italians who had just seen there country go from world champions to finish in the pool below New Zealand. In fact they were the bottom of their group. I understand however, being an All Blacks supporter, as I go through the same thing every 4 years. After the game we decided it was off for some dinner and an early night.

When in Rome
... is talking and Sadie is looking to the side with a unimpressed look on her face (haha maybe you have to see it to be amused :P.. or maybe I am easily entertained) When our tour was over, we went to wait for our next tour guide to take us to the Roman Forum. While we were waiting, Christoph went to ask for a coke can. However, the vendor was a little put off, because they thought Christoph said cocaine. ... the masses. If their performances weren't up to par, they were also fed to the animals. Then gladiators came out as the anticipated main event.
We spent the final night enjoying a bottle of wine in Campo di' Fiori then ventured out to clubs with American hip hop music and overpriced cocktails.
Now we're off to the Chianti region in Tuscany! Radda in Chianti to be exact. A short train ride from Rome to Florence, then a long car ride through the winding hillsides. Ciao!
