    ... was very apparent is that nobody was on their phones. I couldn't see that anyone even had a phone. I found that refreshing and remarkable, and helped to create the slower-paced mood that Rob and I are quickly adjusting to. The orders were taken eventually, food was brought out eventually, and we ate with space between each bite. Our words and easy, quiet gaze (with each other, and around the room) filled the space created as we stretched the time out.


    Stonehenge and Bath

    Viewed the prehistoric setting of Stonehenge and later the Roman Baths in get this the city of Bath (makes sense huh). But Bath is also a Georgian city with extensive architecture built largely during the 17th and 18th century.

    Stonehenge is actually small, but it is remarkable that people without the wheel or equipment with which to hoist could have developed this place. These stones were moved over many miles before placement.

    ... had a fantastic play topped off my the largest mister whippy marshmallow icecream we had ever seen. Back home then for diary writing and rest time before a delicious roast chicken. Flynn and Rosie gave Hattie a taste of what it would be like to have 2 other siblings in the bath (answer: a lot louder) - needless to say we let Hattie and Rosie out before we unleashed the wild Hamley's bath ...

    We decided to do the washing again today as the sun was shining but also to go down to the Mere Museum. It was at the library, while Lyn was trying to look up old newspapers online, Lloyd, Clem & I looked at the old photos books & other information about Mere. I also found some interesting things on other places nearby where my ancestors had been a couple of hundred years ago.

    We left Merthyr Tydfil this morning & guess what the sun was shining. It was about a two & a half hour car trip to Mere, Wiltshire, England, our home for the next two weeks.
