    ... from Scotland. Before that the castle belonged to Richard Neville, the Kingmaker. His daughter, Anne Neville, married Richard bringing the castle with her. He did the job well and eventually became King Richard III.

    ... or not in the case of a cormorant who couldn't figure out what way he wanted to go. The article terns were my favourite, they are really tiny and apparently travel about 44,000 miles a year, the most miles of any bird, that's a lot of air miles!!!! Off to York tomorrow. Feel really sad to be leaving Northumberland it is a beautiful county but we will definitely be back ...

    We awoke early to find The Holy Island shrouded in a sea mist and drizzle in the air. Luckily we are prepared for every weather situation and so we donned our rain gear and set off early across the causeway to Lindisfarne.
