... looks worse than Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona! When they talk about a drought out west they aren’t kidding! We stayed at a Holiday Inn Express in Moses Lake, WA on Thursday night.

... Weather was pretty iffy most of the day but was a very scenic route. Stopped at Astoria at the Best Western - good hotel - rate $108 plus $15 for George. Was clean and relatively new. Ate dinner at the Ship Inn which was a good seafood place. Basic and definitely not fine dining but good ...

... strange but will have that available next year. Border guard confessed that they were concerned about lamb and goat when asking about meat? He did discover my bacon but let me go without any problems. Got as far as Wenatchee around 5:00. Stayed at EconoLodge - very basic - fairly clean but allowed pets and was cheap - $55.00 with only $10 for George. Wouldn't recommend but was OK - breakfast very very basic and couldn't even eat the ...

... place which I forget the name of, good ice cream too. We kept following the road and we ended up on a ferry which took us over to the town of Everett. and then crossed the Highway 5 and headed east towards Mount Baker. It was a beautiful drive through the mountains. We saw a church that was so small it would only fit two people in it. We also saw a place which had a fence build from old Snow ski"s..all on the wrong side of the road with too much traffic to stop ...
