With all that excitement over we drove on stopping at Louch Conn for photos then onto Newport where we decided to stay for the night. We did not have to be at our house sit until tomorrow and it wasn't far from here. Found a pub for the right price, booked in and went up the road for some sunset photos and nearby for a meal and had an early night.

Belmullet is on the Mullet Peninsula, on the very far Northwest side of Ireland. Yup, that's its name. And no, we couldn’t resist the urge to go. Another island recommendation. We lucked out again and as we drove closer to the island, the sky cleared up and we yet again were lucky enough to have another good weather day for island exploring. We didn't stay on the island but only because the hostels were all booked up. If given the choice, we would’ve!

... delicious smoked salmon for dinner) and the last ferry back. As was the case with Inis Oirr, the ferry was pedestrian only and visitor cars are not permitted on the island. We spent the day walking around the West loop of the island. The ferry ride and the views from the island were beautiful. We could've easily missed such a great experience and we’re so glad we didn’t.
