... guide offering his services which we declined. Got to the entry and made our way to the Greek Theatre which was nice, read our book, went to the top and hollowed caves. Found broken down railings and lots of areas blocked off. This continued into the other areas with more blocked off than open and overgrown and pretty dirty. It then took me an hour walking around the town asking different people and having to go back to the vets to find the pharmacy to get the prescription - yes the pharmacy where we would get medicine for ourselves also sell the dog medicine - after 3 pharmacies I got it !!! Tia's eye looks better after one dose so sure will be better ...

... and lava jewellery stores. Upon enquiry we found the very odd pineapple ceramic items were in fact acorns and in Sicily are placed for welcoming guests. A good explanation but it did not make any of us rush out to buy one to haul about Sicily.   I parted with the group and luckily found the hotel again. Buon giromo

The rooster might have crowed this morning and the train might have delivered 14 commuters somewhere but not for ears in our room at Borgo di Santa Barbara. ... we had a great evening meal in a typically Sicilian restaurant and were serenaded by some musicians while we ate. Taormina is a beautiful hillside town with a history dating back to Ancient Greece with Roman , Carthaganeans, Arabs, Normans to name a few and all have had an influence on the architecture and buildings.
