According to me today we visited some of the best beaches of this trip. The beaches were not the easiest to reach, not crowded and beautiful. Only downsides were it wasn't so warm and they were stone beaches. The highlight of the visit are the amazing views of Praia das Catedrais (Cathedral Beach) at low and high tide. We are fortunate to experience both. At low tide we can walk amongst the striking cliff formations. At high tide you must see them from the cliffs above.
Low tide on the first day is at 9:30, so we want to get there early. We ask for breakfast at 8:00 am.
... mountains to the coast at Viveiro. We stop at this interesting coastal town for a visit, then continue along the coast, with a picnic stop along the way.
We arrive in Ribadeo, and find our hotel quite easily. Nothing like good signposting!
The Hotel Santa Cruz is rather basic. We get a room overlooking a large concrete expanse, which is presently the parking space and will obviously one day accommodate expansion. The manager, or owner, we never knew which, is gruff. ...
The day started well with a wander around the fishing port, fort and headland of this very nice town. We then went off on yet another narrow road in search of Southern Europes highest cliffs. Boy were we disappointed, as the mist descended. It was kind to call it a mist, it was a rolling fog really, we could hardly see 10 feet in front of us!

Today we were all organised and had a caravan park as a destination. It was a hole! We all made the decision to keep driving.. this turned a one and a hour drive into a four and a half hour drive. We rolled into a town and couldn't find caravan parks. Bill asked a guy for some help and he turned into our tour guide by driving us to 3 different parks!
