Gracious Mexican Hospitality I Loved It!
From the minute we arrived to our final good-bye our hosts and their staff took wonderful care of us. Breakfast was always special - both the food and the beautifully set table. Aurora's art gallery background is evident.
The hospitality was an A+! Oaxaca at its best!
The only regret is that, after 12 days, we had to say goodbye
I will return!
An Aesthetically Exciting Experience
The local folk art, the colors used in the decor, the exquisite table settings - all combined to make this place a real treat for the eyes. Breakfasts were gourmet feasts beautifully presented. A friendly staff, clean rooms, and a cat who adopted most guests complete this picture. The owners are fluent in English and willing to pass on their knowledge of the area. Centrally located, it is an easy walk to the zocalo, cathedrals, shops and restaurants.
I highly recommend Casa del Las Bugambilias!
Outstanding B & B
My husband and I spent five days in Oaxaca in late April 2005, and one of the best aspects of the visit was staying in Casa las Bugambilias. Our room was clean, spacious, quiet, and extremely comfortable. Aurora is one of the most gracious hosts I've ever encountered in more than 40 years of traveling; she is unfailingly pleasant, courteous, helpful, and charming. The breakfasts were all delicious, featuring local cuisine prepared with skill and presented with imagination. The location of Casa las Bugambilias is ideal, on a relatively quiet street but within easy walking distance of several wonderful plazas, including the Zocalo and the Plaza Santo Domingo. We would return to this B & B in a heartbeat, and hope to do so soon!
Great B & B
Las Bugambilias is a superb place for a good rest with friendly staff, very clean premises and excellent food. We spent eight nights there and it went by far too quickly. Aurora Cabrera and her staff are extremely helpful with information about Oaxaca and the surrounding area. We will definitely book there the next time that we visit Oaxaca. RGC, Toronto
What a wonderful place!
We stayed over New Year's at this wonderful Bed and Breakfast in the historical center of Oaxaca. Everything was wonderful! First of all, the rooms were beautiful, decorated with great sense of style. My favorite one was Las Bugambilias. painted a bright pink and with a wonderful bath and a little patio. The house itself was all worm and welcoming, with free fast internet and tv to watch movies. The breakfasts were particularly great; starting always with fresh fruit, yogurt and home made granola, and followed by yummi local speciliaties such as quesadillas with oaxacan quesillo, or huevos rancheros. Also great was the location, close to Sto Domingo and the quiet beautiful streets north of the Zocalo, but also walking distance from anything you might want to see. But especially important are the people who staff the B&B; the host- Aurora- is a wonderful, charming woman who will guide you through the area as she serves you coffee in the morning, and Alvaro, at the reception, will gladly guide you or connect your (very cheap) long distance calls. All the women who wok at the kitchen are also very nice. And just an example of the great human quality at this place: I lost an envelope full of cash, and one of the women found it in the garbage can! She went through the garbage cans trying to help me!
I cannot recommend this place enough!
Charming Las Bugambilias
Las Bugambilias is a delightful place to stay in Oaxaca. It is extremely attractive, very clean, and very comfortable. The staff is so helpful and the owners are utterly charming. Each morning, the dining table was set beautifully with a different color scheme and the food was wonderful. The staff was very helpful in helping arrange our tours and recommended great tour guides/bus drivers. The location is convenient to shopping and restaurants --an easy walk from the zocolo. I took a group of artists there, and we found the B&B to have a very relaxing atmosphere.
Wonderful!
We highly recommend this B&B. Not only is it beautiful, comfortable and friendly, but it is in a very convenient location. The owners go out of their way to ensure you have all the information you need to successfully do whatever is it you have chosen for that day. We can't wait to return!
Surpassed my expectations!
The clean and lovely home was beautifuly decorated with Oaxacan art and the elegant staff took excellent care of our every need. We loved the purified drinking water available in our room and the free internet service and computer use for guests. Las Bugambilas is among the finest B&Bs we've ever had the pleasure of visiting.
A real jewel!
We loved this place--in historic colonial district, close to shopping, museums, zocalo, real Mexican ambience, friendly family. Oh, those breakfasts are to die for!!!
Perfect stay in Oaxaca
We stayed in Oaxaca for a week in May 2004 and loved Las Bugambilias. The location, near S. Domingo, was perfect for strolling; the breakfasts and our meals at the restaurant, La Olla, were fresh and delicious, and the other guests, the owners of the B&B and everyone working there were warm, thoughtful and helpful. Las Bugambilias can schedule Oaxacan cooking classes for you, and you won't be able to resist asking where to find the beautiful Oaxacan art displayed throughout the B&B. It's a perfect home base for exploring the beauties of Oaxaca.

We stayed in a nice place in Oaxaca before, Bugambilias, so it was easy just to go back there.
Being at the right place at the right moment II
