The beautiful university city of Guanajuato (meaning 'hill of frogs' in the P'urhépecha language) was founded in 1548 and built around mines after the Spaniards discovered silver in the area. In the 18th century it was one of the richest cities in the Spanish empire, producing around two thirds of the world's silver.
These days it doesn't produce quite so much silver, But it is, unsurprisingly, another Unesco World Heritage site.

Friday Night at the Movies
... for only about 12 - 15 people, so reservations are a definite must. A dedicated waitress was readily, although discreetly available to provide the snacks, as well as take additional drink orders. It was a fabulous night out, and although we had all seen the movie once before, we loved it just as much the second time, and we could not have had a more comfortable venue to enjoy it! We will definitely plan another night at the movies!

Travel Day - UGH!
... comforted by the fact that we were "getting out of Dodge" just in time, and soon would be basking in the warm sun.
When we arrived at the airport the supposed required 3 hours ahead of departure, we were quickly processed and told that we were going to be put on the 6 am flight instead of the 7:59 flight, as we had loads of time. A lot can happen in a week!

THey had a baby on the front seat and about 6 people in a little volkswagen and they just had a few cuts and bruises. As for us, we were in a massive 4 by 4 which took most of the blow luckily, so we just got some whiplash and a couple of bruises from the safety belts.
