The christmas holidays to 2010, I went to Marrakech and I visited diferent places, the first was:

The Place Jemaa el Fna is a central square at entrance to market in Marrakech. You can buy all types of things, from backpacks to dentures, snakes or anything else. Also, you can find a lot of types of food. The most popular is cuscus with spicy ingredients. There you can eat with fork and knife, but the tradition is ...

From gondolas to camels

Morooco....mmmm....different....we have seen a lot of different cultures in our travels around the world.....but landing in Marrakesh really put us "out there"......on the taxi ride from the airport we went down Mohamed VI street...the longest street in Africa...16 kms long....all the buildings looked like large sand castles made at the beach and tinted a light red....when we got to our rihad ( which is like a large mansion with a courtyard in the middle) our taxi driver banged on ...

  • SNOW IN MOROCCO. (This blew my mind.)
  • We grabbed dinner in the hotel, and plotted our last day in the city. We all are starting to feel nostalgic and sad about tomorrow being our last day, so we all lingered after dinner rehashing our trip.. one of ...

Una casa encantadora y una hospitalidad fascinante

      from Saribel

      from patrick106

      Highly recommended

      from FamilleKillick

After the heat, dust and noise of Marrakech, Casa Taos is a haven of tranquillity: lush gardens, beautiful swimming pool and fabulously furnished rooms. And that's the bad bit. What sets Casa Taos apart from other hotels and guest houses we have visited, is the remarkable hospitality of the owners Isham and Karima. They effortlessly manage to make you feel part of the family whilst never intruding and always happy to provide advice and suggestions (or just a chat).

The cooking, overseen by Isham himself, is never less than delicious and always changing - from Moroccan classics like Couscous and Tagine and a melting Shoulder of Lamb to Mediterranean and even French dishes like Magret of Duck, the food is always fresh (often from their own garden) and expertly prepared. And should you feel hungry at any time, there are always their unrivalled Moroccan pancakes to snack on.

We stayed in a suite in the main building which was both spacious and comfortable. We had a peak at all the other rooms and suites, which are all beautifully appointed (although my favourite is probably Botero). We were lucky to have Casa Taos to ourselves during our 3 nights which only added to the sense of being at home away from home.

Casa Taos is perfect for children - not surprising given the owners have their own three year old boy who seems unique amongst his age group in being happy to share his toys (even his motorcycle). If you can drag yourself away, there is plenty to do with Marrakech itself a short drive away, and, if you ask nicely, a trip to their farm. Milking a cow by hand was the highlight of our daughter's whole holiday.

      Highly highly recommended.

      Fantastic weekend in Marrakech

      from pat053

We were invited for a magical mystery tour on a friends 40th. They hired Casa Taos for 14 of us although the rooms can be rented individually. What a lovely place! The rooms are huge. The pool is fantastic. The owner, Hicham, together with his wife and 8 staff were

attentive. The food (much grown at the villa) was excellent - Hicham ran a restaurant in Casablanca for 5 years. We had a taxi on call to take those who wanted to go the hustle & bustle of Marrakech (20 minutes) or we could just choose to chill. Highly recommended!

      from moumart

Excellent hospitality in most beautiful villa

      from ahm-rotterdam

We spent our holiday at Casa Taos from the end of january through the first week of february '07 and enjoyed the fabulous hospitality in the beautiful house of the Charaï family. Everything about this place is still in our minds, the beautiful house, our superb suite, the large garden, orchard, the pool, the views over the Atlas. We think back with so much pleasure, we recommend a stay to anyone!!

We loved the fresh and delicious breakfasts every morning (including fresh orange and mandarin juice!), haute cuisine diners in the evening with traditional meals from Morocco as well as the tastes from other continents and not to forget the Moroccan tea with cookies. Everything home made. Really superb!!

Hicham and Karima Charaï and their devoted staff made us really feel at home. We enjoyed their company as being their guests very much, also our son who played with their son the whole week, both being 3 years old. So a really child friendly holiday destination too!

Hicham and Karima even took us to visit L' Ouka, the ski-resort in the Atlas Mountains, and arranged a surprise massage at the Casa Taos for my husbands birthday at my request. No limits to their hospitality!! For our visits to Marrakech we took a grand taxi, it was very nice to come back to Casa Taos after visiting the beautiful, crowded and vibrant city centre.

Concluding: Casa Taos is the perfect holiday destination!!

      from hollyCasablanca
