          Woo-hoo … We're going to Hollywood!

And then, we’re going to the beach. How California-clichéd is that?

Day 1 of our journey begins on the Rim of the World Highway, designated a Scenic Byway because it literally feels like you are on the rim of the world. It’s a 110-mile route that traverses the rim of the San Bernardino Mountains from Cajon Pass to San Gorgonio Pass. We follow this narrow, ...

... maps for our big US road trip. The guy there was nice enough to not only grab us the big maps but we got a street by street guide bound up in mini books.

Chikki and Falu take us to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner. It's a long wait so Falu and I window shop at Victoria's Secret. Everything is much cheaper here, damn backpack restrictions! Our dinner was giant sized again and Hinesh and I shared a rocky road sundae. In theory ...

... postcard views! We are loving this place. Back to hotel for a beer on the roof terrace and enjoyed complimentary wine hour from 5-6pm. Headed to the bar in the hotel for a couple of excellent margaritas then off to The Palace for our first steak of the trip! Lovely! Another reasonably early night then off to Monteray tomorrow, possibly the longest drive of the trip. I hope I can stay ...
