... William, our driver, drove us the two so called dangerous blocks to the Tica Bus Terminal. I couldn't understand why people considered it to be so dangerous. Yes the streets were pitch black, yes, there were a few transients lingering about, street dogs digging through trash - but otherwise, eerily quiet.

We caught a small plane with TACA Airlines where the staff were so excited to have Australians aboard that the pilot welcomed us during his flight brief. It was in Spanish but we could get the gist as passengers smiled and clapped while looking in our direction or maybe it was the guy behind us….
