I wish I could say that I slept a bit later today, but by 5:15 am I was ready to go. Not true for Carolyn who didn't move until after 7. We had breakfast in the hotel which was more than satisfactory, and by 9 am we were exploring San Jose. Our hostel was actually about 20minutes from San Jose but after first views of the city we weren't too worried about this as the city centre didn’t look very appealing to walk around in. The pretty bleak city views faded to greenery and mountains as we headed towards the hostel which is in a residential neighbourhood, both pretty and safe with nice views all round.
