... the Barolo region and the G D Vajra winery which produces 400,000 bottles a year. It is a family winery run by the 3 children of the founder. We tasted 3 Nebbiolo reds and a moscato all produced from grapes from their vineyards. Wine makers are strictly controlled by govt regulations as to how long a wine is aged among other things. This then allows them to gain certification as either DOC or DOCG. We also stopped in the town of Borolo and walked the cobbled streets for 40 minutes. ...

... Milu B&B, a stylish room in a lovely house on the outskirts of town.

An old gentleman greets me at the door. He speaks no English but soon has his granddaughter on the phone. It is she who runs the B&B and her English is good. It's a bit pricey at €39 with a DIY breakfast provided in the room.
But it's late and the room is comfortable, so I stay.

... moved on Sasha and Ben arrived. I hadn’t met Ben yet so I was really looking forward to meeting him. They got themselves to Monaco and came up to the office. It was so nice to see them. I sent them off to have a look around and left work as soon as I could to join them for a drink. They stayed a couple of nights but then took the train to Aix en Provence as Sasha wanted to meet up with her friend Lea. They came back with Lea on the Saturday and we ...
