... bad weather earlier in the day all the pay beaches weren't set up so we had the whole beach to ourself. After some time we were joined by some more next friends from our hostel, one from North Van, 2 from Sweden and a guy from Oklahoma. After beach time it was time to get our cheap grocery store dinner and cheap wine for sunset watching. The sunset started off with little promise due to clouds but came to be a beauty. I stayed up far far too late performing my fav ...

In Sorrento, Capri, Positano and Amalfi coast

Up early to beat the crowds. On ferry and across to Capri. Soon as there caught another smaller boat and motored round to north side where we went into several caves and were shown more on cliffs. Back to Capri and up the funicular to the main town where we spent a free hour ...

That pretty much sums up my impression of the area. Heading back towards our ship in Naples, Guisippe drove us across the Milky Mountains , named for the goats and cows that are farmed on the mountain and the cheese they produce. As ...

Pompei Day

We are going to Pompei today. Another fairly quick breakfast followed by a walk to the train station to catch the 0852 train. The ride is about 35 minutes and even this early, we get the accordion players on the train. When we arrive at the station it is a very short walk to the entrance of the park. We get our tickets and enter. Even though the shore is not that close to us now, we are standing where the harbor was in 79 AD. The city was founded in 600 BC and became a thriving ...
