First taste of Buenos Aires
So we made it. We are in Buenos Aires.
This is the first time we managed to sleep for almost 8 hours on the plane...the seats were indeed comfortable and the champagne kept coming....
Anyway, we checked in our apartment (Casa Bolivar), which is quite nice and the couple handling the whole thing are also very nice and gave us …
Buenos Aires, the Capital of cool
Arriving in from Santiago, we rolled into the Airport and collected out bags... Rab got some money changed as Pesos were the only currency we weren't able to pre order prior to our travels... we had arranged an airport transfer from Casa Bolivar and we got no less than Rico Suave the taxi driver who managed to lovingly touch every female toll booth …
"It's a trap!"
... Tomorrow I can sleep in, I guess. I could take the bus, but I like the idea of keeping active before hiking Patagonia. There are 2 other students in my beginners class, a Korean and an American, both women in their 30's. Our teacher is a young woman named Lucia. We all need to go over the basics again, so we learn greetings, saludos, and the verbs ser, tener and llamarse. I felt more confident after our 4 hour ...
Market Day
... lots of shops) and had some yummy Freddo ice cream. Having admired the ceiling in the Galerias Pacifico and stumbled across some kind of Polish celebration on Avenida de Mayo we decided to pay Café Tortoni a visit. Café Tortoni is one of the more famous, and so of course touristy, places in the city as it’s been around for quite a while. There was a queue to get in, which is normal for there, but it passed quickly allowing us our ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Casa Bolivar Buenos Aires
Great rooms, hosts, ambience and location
We spent 5 nights in total at Casa Bolivar - it was the only place we were happy at in BA. Although one of the rooms we stayed in was slightly noisy, the room itself made up for it. All the rooms were clean, spacious, comfy, private, individually decorated, and had clean bathrooms. The location was ideal for our purposes also - San Telmo is a quirky place with lots to do, situated not too far away from the centre, but on the other side of town from Palermo (which is where you should aim for if you would like to have boutique shops around you) - although Palmero was only a 2usd / 25mins cab ride away. Lastly, I should mention Bruno and Gerard, who are the welcoming hosts - there hands off approach means Casa Bolivar feels more like your own house than a hotel, but when you need them they are there with anything you need.
Excellent
We stayed in Casa Bolivar for 10 days. We had the Tango apartment, which had been superbly redecorated and furbished in a true Argentinean fashion.
Don't want to repeat everything that has already been said, but everything was so lovely: from the comfy beds to the breakfast in the morning (thanks to the Mamma della Casa!), from the cleanliness of the apartment to the friendliness and helpfulness of the two owners Gerard & Bruno.
WE FELT SO AT HOME that we didn't want to leave.
Well done guys!
Casa Bolivar is a GEM!
I stayed at Casa Bolivar for over one month. It was my 2nd visit to Bs As, but my first stay at Casa Bolivar. I knew I wanted to be in San Telmo. Friends had stayed at Casa Bolivar and recocmmended it. The proprietors, Bruno and Gerard are amazingly helpful and kind, the rooms are spacicous, clean and BEAUTIFULLY updated. State of the art modern features combined with 20' high ceilings, old world charm and grace.
Casa Bolivar was full when I was there, and it was always peaceful and quiet. The support staff are all helpful and the place runs smoothely. You cannot go wrong staying here. I am returning to Bs As and staying here again.

Doesn't get much better than this!!
After browsing on the web, I found a few places to stay in Buenos Aires. After contacting Casa Bolivar, I knew this was it. From the first contact to the final goodbye, we received prompt attention, great assistance and a great deal. San Telmo is a lovely area and not far by bus to the city. The room was super with comfy beds, great shower and kitchen. The building is secure and we felt very safe. Anything you need, you can count on Bruno and Gerard to help. I recommend this place highly and would definitely stay again!
Charm and comfort
After staying at Casa Bolivar for about four months this year, I have only good things to say about the owners and guests. It is a high-level place, and I look forward to going back soon...

It felt like home!

Charming hotel
casa bolivar is a stunning place with lots of character! The rooms are all in a different style and very tastefully decorated. I had the "pop 60's " appartment and loved it. it is also very convenient because you can cook your meal if yo don't want to go out. the landlords are truly lovely too, which helps! I'd recommend it to everybody looking for a friendly , cosy yet lovely place. it is definitely a hotel I'll remember!
WOW
Bonjour,
