Having Cafe Boulud delicacies poolside: "Life is Good" if you're staying
at the Brazilian Court Hotel (rated #1 by Travel + Leisure). You'll
feel as if you've been whisked to Monaco, eating out of doors by a
beautiful stone fountain, among lush palm trees, with 5 star amenities,
like Gilchrist & Soames gels & lotions, …
... them and shooting up into the sky. We decided to try low tide for our first visit.
The night before I looked up the tide schedule for Jupiter. We arrived around 11:15, which was perfect. Parking was a cinch. There's two parking lots (note that they close around 4:30) just past the first sign for Blowing Rocks. We started our hike by checking out ...
Ordered a new REI rolling duffle yesterday. Will it really fit my walking poles? Will I be able to travel 2.5 months in the bag? Will I be able to lug it up B and B stairs which inevitably will present themselves after long days? Just when I am trying to get smaller and smaller gear I have ...
... of the car with some effort. So here i am rescued by my 2 blonde girl hosts that seemed very cool right off the start. They were 25, kind and laid back. So a bit like me i guess. They were very hospitable and got me food, bud beers and a warm Shower. The shower made me feel rebourne, after a day of sweating on the bike, cycling my ass off. They had 2 dogs: a small royal one named Henry and a bigger one called Cody, who They ...
Flight two to West Palm Beach ended up being fine for Suz, using the two products she had bought although her ears were very blocked when we got to Florida!
We landed at West Palm Beach at 3.15pm, collected our bags, finalised the pre-booked car rental, then caught a shuttle to the rental car. We had a choice of cars & Gav chose a Chrysler 200. Off we drove from West Palm Beach to Miami, about 72 miles away which took about 1 hour 15 minutes.

Paradise on earth: Casa Grandview in West Palm Beach. Stay in your very own furnished cottage, swim in 2 saltwater pools, chill out on a hammock, fire up the barbeque, bikes at no extra charge, play the piano in the salon, and did I mention the unbelievable 4 star complimentary breakfasts with Starbucks coffee? The place is vegan-friendly, offering soy milk, almond milk, Archer's black bean patties from Publix and the most incredible French croissants from Cheney Brothers.
Luxury cotton sheets, Nautica towels, soft terry robe, jacuzzi bath, free wifi, beach chairs & umbrellas; there is nothing you will need, except just have a fabulous time. It's a great getaway especially for honeymooners, or couples that want to re-connect with their romantic side. You truly feel transported to a different time and place, one of southern hospitality, a slower pace of life, surrounded by good people like the proprietors Cheryl and Kirk and their cute Cavalier King spaniels.
After my bike ride (which they didn't charge for), I was hot and sweaty, so I decided a dip in their saltwater pool would do me just fine. I grabbed a diet Coke zero from my full-sized fridge (no charge for beverages or bottled water!), and had to decide which pool to swim in: the laid back one with hammock, or the more formal one with waterfall and jacuzzi? Such dilemmas (what great luck to have such choices). The sound of the waterfall, the bamboo trees, and the changing colours of the sky at sunset, made me think I was in the mediterranean. With the luscious waters lapping at my toes, I let all the problems of the world subside--Casa Grandview was true paradise.
The clientele is also interesting, having breakfast with a broker from Corcoran from Southhampton NY, a male model from Pierre Cardin, makes for interesting conversation and people meeting while you're away on vacation.
A place is about the people and this gets a 5 star rating in my book.
