Paradise on earth: Casa Grandview in West Palm Beach

Paradise on earth: Casa Grandview in West Palm Beach. Stay in your very own furnished cottage, swim in 2 saltwater pools, chill out on a hammock, fire up the barbeque, bikes at no extra charge, play the piano in the salon, and did I mention the unbelievable 4 star complimentary breakfasts with Starbucks coffee? The place is vegan-friendly, offering soy milk, almond milk, Archer's black bean patties from Publix and the most incredible French croissants from Cheney Brothers.

Luxury cotton sheets, Nautica towels, soft terry robe, jacuzzi bath, free wifi, beach chairs & umbrellas; there is nothing you will need, except just have a fabulous time. It's a great getaway especially for honeymooners, or couples that want to re-connect with their romantic side. You truly feel transported to a different time and place, one of southern hospitality, a slower pace of life, surrounded by good people like the proprietors Cheryl and Kirk and their cute Cavalier King spaniels.

After my bike ride (which they didn't charge for), I was hot and sweaty, so I decided a dip in their saltwater pool would do me just fine. I grabbed a diet Coke zero from my full-sized fridge (no charge for beverages or bottled water!), and had to decide which pool to swim in: the laid back one with hammock, or the more formal one with waterfall and jacuzzi? Such dilemmas (what great luck to have such choices). The sound of the waterfall, the bamboo trees, and the changing colours of the sky at sunset, made me think I was in the mediterranean. With the luscious waters lapping at my toes, I let all the problems of the world subside--Casa Grandview was true paradise.

The clientele is also interesting, having breakfast with a broker from Corcoran from Southhampton NY, a male model from Pierre Cardin, makes for interesting conversation and people meeting while you're away on vacation.

A place is about the people and this gets a 5 star rating in my book.

    The Girls, Shopping and Brisket!

Bob went back for another round of golf this morning. Three days on the trot!!! Today he went around in 87. He must really like this course. Harriet and I went out to a place called The Girls. From the outside it looks like a very quirky little café. Inside it is decorated in a very old fashioned almost 1950s style with lots of "stuff" hanging from the ceiling etc. They have their own jams and goodies on sale. Then ...

... compared to our last cruise (when we met our lovely LA Gang), was very comfortable. In fact, the suite was more than double the size of our previous cabin - it might be safe to say it was the size of our living room at home. We were pleasantly comfortable and had two large windows through which to enjoy the sun, seas and ocean views.
Chundun served us drinks and he was quite funny. He was very clear that it would be him that served us for the cruise but ...

... and no congestion. Funny to see a bloke was sat in the back of an open truck, hammering it down the highway past us. Not a lot to see really along the highway, the odd glimpse of life as we passed junctions. It started with a two lane road and later opened up to a 6 lane road. Places we passed by Melbourne and I spotted also Oceekobee, Fort Pierce & Indian town.

Finally arriving at West Palm Courtyard about 2.30pm, checked in and had a ...

We've got two areas that are wet enough to warrant repair. We also want some other areas refinished that may lead to future problems if not taken care of. The fiberglass guys are looking at the job Monday and providing quotes.

We had a good night in Orland. For breakfast we had some cornflakes with warm milk which was not really the best breakfast we had so far. Because totay was easter we unpacked the German easter candy i brought, so our easter hunt was just 2 minutes in the trunk. After that we drove with our car to Orlando Downtown to the oldest Lake-Park in Orlando. At the Lake was market where we had the best and freshest lemonade ever and some corn. We walked arround the lake ...
