Cienfuegos, day trips and back to Havana

A travel blog entry by kasnsqueak

... at the Bacardi building, famous art deco style building which belonged to the famous rum maker who fled Cuba and then sued Cuba for using the Bacardi name on its' rum. The building foyer is delightfully art deco and giving the security guy 1 CUC allows me a ride in the elevator to the 7th floor and then a staircase trip of 3 flights to the lookout tower where I get a wonderful 300 degree view of Havana. After, David walked us to our base house and we split into our own houses. We moved in and loved our house with a very nice bathroom. We ...

... with Dave, Zoe and Idan for a game, but it was packed, so we stuck to beers and some air hockey. It didn't help that there were only 2 lanes for the whole town though. 2 bowling lanes, 3 pool tables and air hockey. We had a good couple of beers here and moved on. As in Havana, the locals hang out along the Malecon on weekend nights. On Sat night we went down with Lester and Annemaria and chilled for an hour or so. Very different to a Sat night in Aus. People walk ...
