... talented. The show-stealer was a kindergartener. She put so much heart and focus into her performance - far more than you would think a child that age could.

After that, we headed to the port to board our cruise ship, the Louis Cristal. For the next four days, we will be sailing around Cuba on her as she makes her inaugural season on this run. We will be amongst the first Americans to circumnavigate Cuba by cruise ship.

Cienfuegos looks like the kind of town that most in Cuba will turn into when even a degree of prosperity returns to this island nation. The colonial town of Cienfuegos was founded in 1819 in the Spanish territory but was initially settled by immigrants of French origin and does show French flavour in the architecture- and apparently the only natural blondes in Cuba come from this area as a result.

Today I woke up at 9am with no alarm! It was really nice. I went down for breakfast at 9:30 with my mom and eventually Abby joined us. Lien had already eaten earlier. Cienfuegos is the youngest town in Cuba (around 1819), founded by the French and every evident in the architecture. The economy depends on the surrounding agricultural land and sea for sugarcane and fish. The farther away from cities you go, the more revolutionary and government billboards you see.
