The weather has been kind to our northern pale skin. Its been cloudy and hot which has stopped us getting too burnt. It has also enabled us to do some walking around the island without getting heat exhaustion!

Welcome to Island life!
This place is seriously chilled, there is no rush to do anything here. We dedicated these days as the calm before the storm of proper travelling around. Saying this, it´s pretty hard to just chill when the heat is so dry and around 37 degrees. We followed what the locals seemed to do..go to the secluded beaches and sleep in the shade for a few hours then ´cool off´in the sea..but the sea was just as warm as land.

... fish in amongst the rocks near the shore: yellow stripey ones, ghostly white one who flashed silver in the sun, long green ones that looked a bit like a small clarinet or oboe. To top it all off, at the lunch stop we found a whole colony of fiddler crabs! I immediately began re-living the notion of my 12 year old self who thought they might make good pets, despite the fact that to keep them you need a tank of some wet sand, some drt sand, some fresh water, ...

Lovely pousada away from the main heart of town, but only 5 mins walk back to the port. Comfortable and good breakfasts.
