... them left in this area and this one is 440 years old. So peaceful and quiet. The only sound is the wind blowing through the trees and all the trees here are amazing. We especially liked the Ponderosa Pine trees. Made our way slowly down the bumpy road and returned to the condo to relax and catch up on computer work, etc. Enjoyed the ...

... be at.

Just down the road at Victorville, having passed that famous diner from Pulp Fiction (the 'glass of water scene'), we chose to get on the Interstate to make better time. Highlights:

  • We went for a big hike to a nearby gorge cut-out by ‘Deep Creek’: A cool river mainly fed by winter snowfall up in the mountains. The river is dotted with waterfalls and large pools that are great for swimming. After a warm 3km hike along the rim we descended ...

... nope, drive over here, nope, drive over there, nope. Finally, after a call to his sister, Kelly, we figured out where it actually was. Thank goodness! Finally, we made a stop by a surprising Bob's in Norco. It was Andrew's birthday after all. He got his usual hot fudge cake & I got some ice cream thing. We saw the former site of the purported sparkly rock. It was a great day for all & we'll go back when there aren't so many people there, or not!
