The drive over and back was nice, but we have realized that in this part of the US, a 20 mile drive takes 45 minutes to an hour due to the terrain and the numerous small villages you have to go through, but that adds to the drive.

I also got over $300 on foodstamps the day before leaving so I had some incredible road tripping food to keep me going :). Arriving in Franklin at 12:30am in a daze sent me to bed and deep dreamless ...
This time the road lead me to the Western part of New Hampshire, an area which I haven't traveled so far. Harrisville was one of these towns, I haven't been in yet.
In the past this area was well known for its paper mills, located on the rivers. Many of those are meanwhile closed down. Due to that development, some of the small towns here appear to be somehow "dead" and empty.
