    ... the pace was really good. I like every place that we traveled to. Each was different. The architecture and art of Portugal and Spain are beautiful. Calatrava, Gehry and Gaudi!!! All different and fabulous. The food was too good! The Atlantic, Mediterranean and beautiful rivers - plazas, museums, route of Saint James - the history, people and cultures - made this trip an excellent one!     ... route and avoids tracking back down to New York. We crossed Shelter Island which is a fairly quiet place with wineries. Our second ferry ride took us to Green Port where we stopped in a quaint village for the nicest coffee we've had in the US. (The others haven't been hard to beat.) From there we headed to Orient for a 1hr 20min ferry ride to New London, then drove onto Cape Cod. ...

    ... with the locals to seat on the
    gorgeous beach with the dogs which you can do after 6PM, maybe
    something that could be set up on the french beaches. We will not
    forget the sweet corns and the feast of muffins we were treated with.
    Lulu, the sweetest little doggie ever,
    even welcome the monster Pickles (at least 50 times bigger )and ruled
    the game .

    ... and went through immigration and security. We cot to our gate but it didn't have our Paris flight number. We said good bye to Sam and Dorothy who were flying to Barcelona for their next trip. I went upstairs and found something else to buy (not heavy!) and then went back down. The gate still had a different flight. Back up 2 flights to find a departure board. Our gate had been changed.     ... they take up so little room and they are very useful for: 1. covering shoulders in churches 2. use instead of a sweater in air-conditioning 3. use over a tee shirt to make it dressier at night or 4. use over your head if it starts to rain or if it gets windy 5. use it to cover up a spot on your shirt that you got while eating (I am famous for this trick) 6. cover your nose and mouth on the plane when people are coughing and 7. to be fashionable!
