On the way see more very large fields of sugar cane and pineapple and we are told Costa Rica is the number one producer of pineapple....and # 2 producer of bananas in the world. We board a boat with a top and open sides and front...perfect to explore ...

We saw a buffalo running and it was so muddy it slipped and fell over which was surprisingly hilarious! There were two ill buffalos, when one is ill it is shunned by the all the others and stays apart from the rest of the group until it dies, harsh! This afternoon I was just in the lab seeing a few more ...

... into deeper water. We enjoyed the rest of the boat trip spotting animals including crocodiles, caymen, kingfisher, lots of iguanas, snapping turtles, and large fish whilst cruising through the rainforest. It really whetted our appetite for what we might see at La Selva over the next 24 hours. We grabbed a taxi early afternoon to La Selva and checked in. La Selva is an active biological research station, one of the best in the world. 60%25 of all published research papers ...
