... village of Workum to visit the art museum of a famous local artist Jopie Huisman. He was a self taught painter who liked to collect old things and paint them. Fantastic work. Then ice cream and a cuppa at the cafe:) We drove on to Lelystad to see the replica of the ship Batavia from the VOC (Dutch East India company). They have also started to build another tall ship there. Then the rain started to come down so off home we went. A great day ...

Fantastic to see them change the sails to face the wind and see it working from the inside. A family BBQ at Piet and Ans tonight with Liesbeth and Maike and families. Followed by party fireworks care of ...

We passed through a lock and travelled along the big canal - passed a couple of old wind mills, plenty of boats, some floating houses on the side of the canal in one part too.
