... lock, we were not so lucky and had to wait as a barge locked through.The wait was long enough that we decided to drop anchor in the channel since the alternative was twirling round and round in small circles for an hour. Believe me, you do not want to go outside of the marked channel in the Tenn-Tom. It is shallow and filled with stumps and who knows what. ... allowed us to photograph his beautiful red truck. We reached starkville at 10:00 pm and visited with Maria and Ismael, friends from Spain. Maria is going through a veterinary neurology residency at Mississippi State. She had made arrangements for us to spend the night at a local equestrian subdivision. We arrived at Columbus marina about 2:45 and they just let us overnight at the fuel dock since we were leaving right away in the morning.
