... Refuge. On this flat, swampy highway, we drove an hour and saw one house and probably two other vehicles. These secluded back roads made Kelsey freak out a bit and deservingly so. I kept hoping and praying that we would not get a flat tire or worse. It was 85 degrees out and we would have no business being stuck in the boonies of Alligator Swamp land in North Carolina. Today we are swimming again at the pool and ocean. Dinner with my family in New Bern at Fridays Seafood restaurant (not TGI Fridays) I ...

Today everyone slept in while I walked for an hour along my favorite beach. We enjoyed the hotel breakfast before heading out to Fort Macon. The pre-civil war fort played an important role in the history of the area and was very interesting for Mike and Brian who both love history. I have been to the fort since I was a child and always enjoy ...
