    ... DAY - Today is a lazy day since it has and will be raining most of the day. We got up at 1am to put the awning up in between rain storms since we weren't sure if the wind would pick up.

    We had about a few hours of no rain that we were right in the middle of bands. So I am catching up on the cleaning (work is never done), reading, writing the blog and working on the ancestry website. ...

    ... name on the transom, Reverie (as I recall) and call on both 13 and 16. No answer. The people aboard waved at us excitedly as we passed. Another call had the same result. Weird. They disappear in the distance and we do the same. We're getting radio traffic on both channels so the radio is fine. Maybe we're not transmitting, I think, but we used it a lot the day before with the tug/barge traffic and all was fine. Hmmm ..... The outgoing tide from Beaufort Inlet ...

They never taught any of this in Captain's classes except in a formal way.     ... and snatched up a fish just like that...then he walked gracefully off the dock.

    We left the dock at 11 after a trip to the grocery store and refueling. I have to tell you about the courtesy car it was a 1995 Buick station wagon, what a gem (see picture ) :-). The further south we get the more "how ya all doing " we get I love the South everyone is super friendly.
