... from the hotel is a cute little wooden pub and whilst the sun was still high in the sky we thought it would be rude not to stop for a quick drink in the beer garden. We had a lovely view across the park and over to the beach. Lovely spot for a cheeky bevvie!

When we got to the beach right in front of the hotel there was a bench with our names on it and we had the perfect spot to watch the sunset. Not long after a massive sweep of cloud started to come in from ...

... Having just come from a country that seemed to be over subscribed in the beautiful scenery department, seeing strip malls and entire towns that seem to have been designed purely for the purpose of supplying locals with junk food did leave us a bit unimpressed. ... our way to highway 101 and the coast. It was a lovely drive and the sun came out as we neared the river. A brief two weeks ago we spent some wonderful time at the Columbia River on the Oregon side, now as we approach the point where the Columbia River pours into the Pacific it is a monster. Easily 4 miles wide, the Megler/Astoria Bridge is a work of engineering artistry. We pass huge barges underneath as if they were toy boats in a bathtub. I ...
