We began our trip to Oshkosh on Thursday morning. Lunch in Tifton, GA at Hog and Bone Barbeque. Good sandwich - there is also one of these in Waycross. Arrived at the campground around 2 PM after changing to central time zone. Our site is about 20 feet from the edge of the lake. We can watch the boaters from our bedroom window! We'll try to leave early tomorrow since it is another almost 300 mile day. ...

Ibis, egret, heron, red headed duck with gray bill and body, a pair of loons (thank you, very much), and the smallest bird I have ever seen (of course I am viewing them through binoculars at quite a distance), plump gray bird with white belly and white markings on the wings, another gray bird with a black tufted crown and gold markings under the wings (we have since learned ...

... goodbye to the cat (miss you Ming) who didn't speak back (unlike Ming) but was purring like mad (just like Ming)! We drove back to the hotel and settled down for a couple of beers and early night. Here we come New Orleans!

    Until tomorrow xxx

We awoke early and had breakfast, a surprisingly large and varied selection of breakfast! AJ was most excited that he could make his very own waffles. They were delicious! So we filled up on the free grub to fuel ourselves for the 4.5 hour journey. We set off south towards "Holy Trinity" to visit the grave of Fr Buggy and then continue onto Eufaula. We spotted an aeroplane close to the church and my heart quite literally stopped when it started to fall apart! I ...

... we'd have wondered about all the signs, but politically speaking, they were all over the place. And, most candidates had three names, Harri Anne, Billy Bob, etc. Mostly Republican but a smattering of Dems, as well. Guess there's an election coming up.

We are in a beautiful State Park - LakePoint, and have a site on the lake. Just checked my camera and realized I didn't take any pictures today. I'll try to do better tomorrow.
