... been. Being a couple helped a lot as we were always able to find private rooms for cheap in hostels, which gave us a little space, but allowed us to meet heaps of other travellers. Every now and then we decided to book small apartments and truly have our own space. Again you would be very surprised that you can get a one bedroom, fully furnished apartment with internet, cable TV, full kitchen, air-con for $30 a night (thanks Amanda). So after Contiki ended we had the extra night in Cancun, the next day we bused to Valladolid with Rizki and James who were from our group. We got ...

... to the beach zone. I couldn't get Internet so my maps on the phone wasn't working, I had no idea which way to head. We walked a bit then just got in a cab and asked him to take us to the beach. He took us a long way into the hotel zone to a public beach called playa delfines, the cab cost twice what it would anywhere else in Mexico. Then we needed to buy sunscreen and water but there were no shops anywhere in sight only resorts and hotels, so we had to walk for ...
