The ship dropped anchor out in the bay of Fuerte Amador – the port to Panama City. After breakfast we took a tender into the dock area, and after shopping in the duty free area we caught a taxi into Panama City. The driver, Julia, began taking us to all the sites of antiquity, such as the old church with the ...
Hola a Todos!
Where to begin, where to begin. When I last left you, we were in the beautiful mountain town of Boquete. The day I wrote you, it was raining and gloomy and thus was missing much of its charm. The next day, however, we had gorgeous weather and were able to really get a sense of the magnificence of the place.

Guess what?! There actually is a winter in Florida and we found it. It was apparently Florida's coldest day of the year so far, 37 degrees Farenheit (about 2.7 degrees celcius) over night. The room was breathtaking with spectacular views of the ocean. That hotel is truly exceptional, and the restaurant Nikki Cafe, the bar area and p...

The Americans may have built the canal, but the concept, at least publicly stated, can be traced ...

The beach is bright white, fine sugar sand and the water is a greenish blue that is still warm enough to swim in....

The bus from Costa Rica down to Panama City wasn´t too bad at all except for the four hour delay at the border.....seriously. Four hours standing around waiting. We got to the Costa Rica/Panama border at half five in the morning. We were all obviously a little dopey getting off the bus. We stood in line for abou...
Beautiful beaches.
Too bad they are flanked by zealots and bikers. Been a long time since I had seen such racism co-existing with constant praise to the almighty (I know, usually go hand-in-hand).
If you are looking for a confederate flag boogie board, they have plenty to choose from.
White sand, clear aqua water...and lo...
