Interesting note that the further we drove north today, the leaf colors aren't nearly as changed yet as they have been previously in New York, Massachusettes, and Maine. Would have guessed even more color further north, but they are just beginning to change on Cape Breton.

After a dinner of fresh Atlantic salmon, we attended a Ceilidh, a performance of Celtic music played on fiddle and piano. The fiddler told some folk stories and demonstrated step dancing.

Visiting North Sydney!
After a short but beautiful hike we drove down the east coast, crossing to the eastern part of the island via a car ferry to North Sydney, where the big ferries leave to go to Newfoundland. Then a visit to the Alexander Graham Bell Museum in the town of Baddeck where we are staying until tomorrow. Yes he invented the telephone but we were all amazed at his inventions related to flight and hydrofoils. Another thing was his and his family involvement with the deaf, including his wife.He settled in this area because it reminded him of his native Scotland- he stayed an American citizen. ...
