The weather has been cold at night, but lovely during the day. In past January trips we had to deal with mud and rain, so the drought is kind of a plus for us right now. Long term, not such a good thing, but the nice weather has made this trip much easier.

The Tiki Bar is currently out of order so we are about to head down to our pal Rosie’s house with a bottle of wine, and we will have us a nice Sunday afternoon ...

... has been spectacular, but for some morning fog. On Friday my folks came down from Pollack Pines. They brought lunch, but unfortunately my mom got violently ill, so that put the kibosh on it for her. My dad helped Dave toss up some drywall after we ate the food and poor momma slept a little. I felt bad for her… Later on Dave’s brother and nephews dropped by for a tour of the progress, and so we had a full house/trailer. My dad got my mom home ...

Having a whale of a time

... At one stop we noticed that some blue was creeping into the sky and the water, so we turned back toward Bodega Bay to try to see some more whales. We made our way back to find the spot more crowded than it had been in the chilly morning. We unpacked our camping chairs and the picnic lunch we had bought and waited. We didn't see any more whales but we had enjoyed a day that we'll never forget. Enjoy the pics.
