A longer than normal drive from Coarsegold to Santa Rosa today, as we made several stops. The first, to investigate a very strong electrical/burning smell in the kitchen/bathroom area, that we still haven't managed to identify. We unplugged everything in the house when it happened, opened windows, can't figure out what caused it! The weather has been cold at night, but lovely during the day. In past January trips we had to deal with mud and rain, so the drought is kind of a plus for us right now. Long term, not such a good thing, but the nice weather has made this trip much easier.

The Tiki Bar is currently out of order so we are about to head down to our pal Rosie’s house with a bottle of wine, and we will have us a nice Sunday afternoon ...

... when suddenly our attention was drawn to the opposite shore where we could see a heron fishing on shore and a otter fishing in the water! The otter began rolling in the mud with the heron keeping a watchful eye on him. Then the heron would walk down the shoreline, and the otter would match his movement in the water!
