    ... mosaics, which took almost 300 years to build. Even the detailed stone paving leading up to the steps indicates that one is approaching a special place. The interior is decorated with Luca Signorelli's frescoes, created from 1499-1504 including his famous depiction of the Last Judgment. The Duomo complex includes several additional museums which we plan to visit tomorrow, so we are back to our B&B to get ready for our trip outside of town for wine tasting.

    ... a Scottish couple (so nice to speak English again), a glass of wine in the town square, bought a bag from a girl whose best friend has the 'Taste of Italy' restaurant in Oslo.
    In beautiful sun, swam in the Lake then washed my hair to classical music in the beautiful camp bathrooms, before dinner out tonight -although we mostly cook for ourselves - " (ed. its better and cheaper....)
    So, that's it for tonight.

    ... first which was just across the square and bought a combined ticket for both the church and the museum. The facade of the church was the most impressive I had seen so far, huge golden mosaics and spiraling column framing large reliefs with intricate designs depicting stories from the old and new testament.
