    ... rain started so we ducked into a nearby restaurant for dinner. Thunder and lightening and reasonable rain, but by the time we finished dinner it had basically stopped but we did make a purchase of an umbrella just to be safe. The weather forecast is for heavy showers over the next few days. Really we cannot complain as it has been excellent and sunny the whole time we have been away. And the only times it rained, we have been inside a museum or restaurant and completely avoided ...

    ... br> Between the thermal pools, salt bath, essential oil infused showers, mud bath, and saunas, I was completely and utterly relaxed 3 hours later. A few of us capped of the visit with a spritz (an Italian cocktail), and then we boarded the bus for the two hour trip back to Rome.

    This was the perfect day excursion out of the city...I made a few new friends, ate a lovely meal, and laughed my way through the whole trip!

    ... We found the duomo, the tower and many cobbled streets to get lost in. Also found two old Italian guys who were up for a chat, one of them had lived in Texas for 35 years and his English was good. We went to find the well and on the way walked through the old ruins of the fortress as a huge thunderstorm was brewing , great photos. There's a nice walkway along the shore of the lagoon which makes you forget the heat a bit... then finally I reach a charming little town, guarded by a thick wall, just a few blocks wide and water on three sides.
