... in front of us for about 5 mins as we inched forward - gorgeous creature. HW31 is broken by Galena Lake so a ferry services traffic movement across the lake on an hourly basis. I literally arrived to see the ferry pull off so it was an hour wait on a lake side until the next sailing. Once across we were on a good road up to revelstoke - famous for the merging of roads and rivers and where a large dam (175m tall) was constructed. ...

... a really friendly Irish guy showed up later in the day and we talked a while. He worked in northern Alberta constructing tar sands mines, which is the largest part of AB’s economy. It was really interesting to hear his personal perspective on the issue and it seemed like he lived a pretty cool life.
