      ... sand treasure of the west coast. We only had 2-hour parking so we chilled on the beach for an hour then mooched around the town for an hour. For the next few nights we have booked into a motel in Newport so we drove down the coast, past Huntington Beach, Newport Beach and had a sneak peak at the Balboa Peninsular before checking in and getting comfy for the night. The next few days are going to be spent in the OC with nothing but beaches on the menu!

      ... of all kinds. It is lined by the ubiquitous pine trees and we could only catch glimpses of the water through the trees. However, Peter pulled in to Baker Bay which provides access for the public to the boat ramp and beach.

      ... to the San Andreas faultline. We might as well have been located on Pompeii prior to the infamous volcano that engulfed the entire city. How they carved out housing and roadways in this uneven terrain is beyond me. It made for scenic sights but also a hell of a lot of stress on your joints.
