... NH and the next day took a drive to Franconia Notch State Park. AMAZING! We saw the Old Man in the Mountain, rode the tram to the top of hill for a foliage extravaganza, hiked the Notch Flume, and got our butts kicked on the biking trail! We loved our time in New Hampshire. We were amazed at the beauty! We took a train ride on the Conway Scenic Railway.
So off to Vermont where we imagined even more ...
... After the film, we were graced with the charming and beautiful granddaughter of Maria Von Trapp, Christina! She told us about life now in Vermont, answered our questions, etc. Wonderful! This place resembles Austria in many ways and is the epitome of hospitality!
Homeward, we made brief stops at Cabot Cheese Outlet and Cold Hollow Cider Mill, both with lots of samples, which ROUNDED out our longest day of ...

We woke late Saturday after a very full week. We were looking forward to an afternoon balloon ride to view the fabled Autumn leaves from above. Sadly, this was not to be. The heavy winds of the past week had halted all balloon flights - and ours was no exception. It was rescheduled for Monday, at 6am. Not looking forward ...
... apartment at 740 Park Avenue. She had requested her children find an appropriate place to house her personal art collection. Her children thought it would be most appropriate to move the rooms she lived in, and loved, to the museum. I was touched by their thoughtfulness.

... great to see the number of seniors attacking the stairs. Many people used walking sticks, even young people, but I’ve never felt the need for a walking stick.
The water running down the flume was more of a spring than a torrent. Spring is probably the best time to see a torrent. On the plus side, we didn’t get wet. I bet spring visitors get drenched at times if they get close to the flume.
