    ... the evenings. At the suggestion of my wonderful house-sitters, Larry and Ellen, I threw in a light fleece jacket and a raincoat, "just in case."

    ... to see him up close and we just couldn't believe how gigantic he was! When we were a few feet away he finally moved to the other side of the road but was still only a foot or two from the side of the truck when we snuck around him.     ... sits on a rock prominentory above the village. Breakfast was good too! Left there and as we climbed out of the valley looked back and realised how little of the place we had actually seen over the couple of hours we were there. Then we saw a bear, in the wild, on the road. He didn't hang around to have his photo taken, but we saw one none the less. Took heaps of photos over the course of this day. More were deleted ...
